a relaxing Thursday night

Myspace Graphics

Yay, tonight is left-over night!  That means I don't have to make dinner, yeppers!  Then, tomorrow will be our usual Friday night out so that means I don't have to cook for two nights in a row.  How cool is that!  Come weekend time is hubby's turn to make dinner so...  You already know what I want to say, right?

This means more blogging time?  Well, I am actually happy with my progress today in the blogging world.  I did a couple of tasks so I am good for now.  I can concentrate on my favorite TV shows tonight.  It will be a relaxing Thursday night for sure.  And I hope you the same folks.  Have a good one!

just a friend's luck!

I just talked to a friend on the phone and she is so excited for their upcoming road trip to Ohio.  They are going to spend Thanksgiving there with her husband’s family.  She also told me that she is having a hard time looking for a pair of boots for her trip in Ohio for she heard that it is so cold there.  I told her to check out zappos.com for this online store has everything she needs for her trip from apparel especially the Lucky Brand ones, to shoes to handbags/bags to housewares.

Hey girl’s talk, right?  Our conversation is never complete without talking about shopping.  I just hope that she could find what she needs for her trip.  I pray that she and her family will have a safe trip and the most memorable Thanksgiving celebration.  Have a good one all!

sugar for hiccups?

I don't like hiccups, do you?  Of course, I bet you would say, you don't like it, too!  It is just so irritating and very uncomfortable when you're going to have this condition, right?  Here's a home remedy that every body can do when we have hiccups.  I gather that a teaspoon of sugar swallowed dry can stop hiccups in minutes. The sugar is believed to modify the nerve muscles that would otherwise tell the muscles in the diaphragm to contract spasmodically and contribute to hiccups.  Hmm, interesting right?  You bet I will try this when I have hiccups.

new lockers, please?

I’ve been noticing lately that my husband’s clothes have always been coming home dirty. He has a uniform at work that he wears but still I wonder where he gets all the dust and dirt from.  I found out that he changes his clothes to his uniforms when he gets there, and then puts his them in a Gym Locker at his work.  So where does the dirt come from?

Well I come to find out, these old Wood Lockers he and the others are using at his work are so old and dirty that it just comes home on his clothes he stores in the locker during the day.  It’s really gross and I think his work should look into new Lockers for the health of all who work there.  I’ve seen some really cool lockers online and hopefully I can convince my husband to bring it up in his next employee meeting.

I often wonder why the work places of some businesses don’t try to keep these places cleaner for their employees.  Along with health, there should be a level of security offered for the employees and their personal items.  Wouldn’t that be wonderful for hubby and his friends at work if they soon would receive a Christmas present of new lockers at work. It would make me happy too because my laundry chores would be a lot less.

olive oil the way!

I usually use olive oil when I saute spices and in almost of my cooking. It is healthier to use it compared to other types of cooking oil.  I even use it to keep our stainless steel refrigerator shiny and spotless, can you believe that?  I have heard this tip from my watching HGTV and it truly works.  However, there is one more home cure using olive oil that I have read here in the net.  You can use it to cure the dreaded eczema.

Yeah, you heard it right!  Olive oil soothe flareups by applying it directly to the irritated area.  Packed with antioxidants that can reduce the inflammation associated with eczema, olive oil is the basis for many moisturizers; and when used alone, it lacks chemical irritants you may find in store-bought creams.  To add, olive oil's antioxidants help prevent and repair damage that can lead to wrinkles and brown spots.  How cool is that!

To apply, rub 1 teaspoon per square inch of skin, which creates a seal that prevents skin from drying out. For serious cases, cover oil-slathered skin with plastic wrap overnight to lock moisture in.  I hope you find this interesting.  Have a wonderful day all!

getting debts under control

In recent years we have acquired a lot of debt.  During that time,  our debt has gone up while our paychecks have gone down.  This is the same story with a lot of people now being the economy is very slow.  While others really don’t know what to do, we want to be the ones who will be informed and get our debt under control.  The big thing we would like to do is to improve credit before we get into a situation where we need to repair credit.

Just in case, we have looked into credit repair services so that we can have every option at our disposal to get back on track.  With the new rules credit cards are implementing and their hikes in interest rates, we want to make sure we get rid of our high rate cards.  At the same time, it would be our ultimate goal to get rid of them all together.  With vacation time coming up soon, we don’t want to be the ones sitting at home paying the bills, we want to be the ones enjoying a cruise or sitting on the beach enjoying ourselves while not worrying about all or debt.

let's go bananas!

My little girl and I have been eating bananas these days.  No wonder we are going bananas here, ya think?  As we know that bananas are a good source for potassium; and that we need this mineral to regulate water balance, levels of acidity, blood pressure, and neuromuscular function.  This mineral also plays a critical role in the transmission of electrical impulses in the heart.

Here are banana's nutrition hinglights:

Banana, 1 medium
Calories: 105
Protein: 1g
Carbohydrate: 27g
Total Fat: 0g
Fiber: 3g
*Excellent source of:  Vitamin B6 (0.43mg)
*Good source of:  Manganese (0.32mg), Potassium (422.44mg), and Vitamin C (10.27mg)

Wow, this is really good for my little girl since she needs more calories in her.  But not me!  I have too much of that.  Still, a banana is a healthy snack for me, for my little girl and for you.  So, let's go bananas!

fixing our computers

We have four computers in our home.  Over a period of time, we have noticed how slow they have been getting.  All the interruptions while online and sometimes they just turn off.  We tried defragging and basic clean up disk programs offered by the manufacturer but it all seems to get getting worst.  We even had to redo one of our computers back to factory.  After doing some investigating, we found out all we needed is a registry cleaner.

Who would have thought that after all these years to be honest, that our whole problem has been system registry problems?  We simply have all along needed a clean registry to work from, and our computer would be back to speed like it was when it was new.  I know my husband does a lot of things on his computer, even from his work.  I bet his computer needs a xp registry cleaner.

After looking online, we have discovered there is a free registry cleaner available for anyone who needs it.  I’m looking forward to being able to fix all our computers and getting them back to as new.  We really enjoy our computers; the learning and fun they provide; and soon they will be operating as new.

fabulous Wednesday

Whooahhh!  How is your Wednesday, guys?  Mine is just fabulous.  I was able to do some chores that I have neglected to do for days.  That I could say that my Wednesday has been so fruitful so far.  I have done some tasks here in the blogosphere which makes it more fabulous.  Hubby and I are into watching our favorite TV shows right now while tinkering here in the net.  What a way to unwind, right?  I will just update my other sites and will be off to bed pretty soon.  What a great day!  I hope that you, too are having an awesome Wednesday.

enjoying road trips

We love road trips and justclicklocal.com has been helping us in our traverse from one state to another.  We enjoyed every minute of all the road trips we have been to.  I remember during our trip to Niagara Falls from Pennsylvania about 3 years ago, we passed by the city of Buffalo, NY and it was so interesting.  What made that trip more memorable was we were able to view one God’s great creation with my brother-in-law and his family.

On our trip to Orlando, Florida last year, we also went by Illinois to visit my cousin who lives there.  It was great to see her again and was glad to know that she is doing well on her own.  On our way to Florida, we just can’t help but cruised by St. Louis, MO to see The Gateway Arch.   I was so amazed with the structure and still can’t believe that I have seen it already.  I also requested hubby that we have to go through Atlanta, GA because that place made an impression on me during The 1996 Summer Olympics of Atlanta.  I can never forget it because I followed every game especially gymnastics on TV while I was still in the Philippines.  Boy, I was in awe as we went by the City of Atlanta.  It was so cool.

Can’t you see now why I love road trips?  Because it gives me a bird’s eye view of one place after another even if we are just cruising by them to our final destination.  I can’t wait for our next road trip and as to where it is going to be, your guess is as good as mine!
